new layout

i’ve had this layout sitting around for ages.. thought i would /finally/ go ahead and upload it. not too sure how much i like it, though.
so, it is quite possible to change again. mind you.. i doubt it even aligns properly in IE… i haven’t even given that a look, guess i
will tackle that next week, when i have some free time… or whenever..

tal and i have had a pretty great week. i really hate it when tal heads back to kate’s. i know it is only a week, but sometimes… it
just drags on… hell it’s not even here yet, and i dread it. i do get to see him during the week.. whenever i want, so i guess it
/could/ be worse.
we have such an awesome bond as i am sure hope all father / son combinations have. we have fun with everything we do. he is
at such a great age, learning so much, so quickly.. my little sponge!!

these holidays are totally throwing me off as to what day is what. i am not complaining, mind you. it has been a really great
week with talon. we have definitely had a lot of fun. i’ve moved him into a bigger room, and have been getting all his things
sorted out over the last few days. he is excited about it.
this upcoming tuesday we should be receiving “fred” a baby spurred tortoise. talon has been wanting one for a long time.
he picked the name.. i wanted something a bit more exotic than “fred”, but that’s what he wanted to name it.. so fred it shall be!
i’ve just now put him to bed for the evening. we sat up watching one of the scooby doo movies. they annoy me, but tal enjoyed it..
one more day left, then tal is off to kate’s for a week. i’ll have him for two weeks straight then he’s off to the uk for xmas.. he’ll get
back to the states just before the new year…

i swear i was not over doing it. honestly. i had light weight on the bar for doing squats, basically just warming up.
on about my second warm up set, i felt it! a slight pang in my lower left side, towards the back. it wasn’t too bad,
so i just switched over to leg extensions. after a few sets of those, i decided to call it an evening (or early morning..
it was 2am this morning). this morning when i awoke.. it wasn’t that bad, but throughout the day, it has progressively gotten
worse. by the time it was 3pm, my back was just killing me. luckily, my chiropractor was able to squeeze me in at 4pm. a few painful
adjustments later.. and all was good. it is still a bit tender, and causes me to walk a bit light on one side, but hopefully it will
lighten up by tomorrow.
and back to exercise… i showed talon how to do chinups on a bar i have setup. he is totally going crazy for them!! he can do a good
two by himself.. and four.. with just the slightest bit of help. he is so cute and so excited about them helping to make his muscles
big!! first thing out of bed this morning… his eyes still half closed, he walked over to the bar and asked me to lift him up so he could
do some. it was great, i laughed and told him to eat breakfast and wake up a bit before he got started on his exercise.. he did four this morning
.. just a smidgeon of help from me.. i swear!
Pull ups

pull ups!
no, not the kind you put on your kids.. the kind you do! i put a chinup bar on talon’s door frame the other
day (it’s for me..). i showed him what it was for last nite. he wanted to try it, so i lifted him up, and
away he went! he /did/ get a little help from dad, but he did a good 2 pullups by himself. needless to say,
i was impressed. when i put him to bed last nite, he said he wanted to do some more. i told him he would have
to wait until morning.
this morning when i turned on his lights and woke him up. he walked (still sleepy) over to his door and said
he wanted to do his pull ups. ha! i told him he should eat his breakfast first, and wake up a bit before he did
them. we came back after breakfast and he was close to pulling off a good four with very little help from me.
he has been beaming ever since.

In the interests of creating employment opportunities in the Java programming field, I am passing on these tips from the masters on how to write code that is so difficult to maintain, that the people who come after you will take years to make even the simplest changes. Further, if you follow all these rules religiously, you will even guarantee yourself a lifetime of employment, since no one but you has a hope in hell of maintaining the code. Then again, if you followed all these rules religiously, even you wouldn’t be able to maintain the code!
You don’t want to overdo this. Your code should not look hopelessly unmaintainable, just be that way. Otherwise it stands the risk of being rewritten or refactored.

am i the only one taken back by this statement? Colindres, himself is only 16, but his bodyguard is 13?!? wtf??
