monday he through a yellow, but so far he’s drawn green for the rest of the week!
just rootin’ around
if all goes well, i should be able to go out on the kayak early saturday morning for a bit, and then again with talon on sunday.
i actually feel a bit tired, but at the same time i almost feel rested. it is weird, and almost hard to explain. i am sure if i put
my head to a pillow, i would crash out instantly, therefore i shall avoid going near the bed. what if i was just walking by and
tripped over a cat or something. there is the posibility i could fall on my pillow and be out for the rest of the nite, thus losing
a minimum of four good hours of quality computer mucking!
i am still mucking around with the linux on my laptop. i decided to clear it off (again), but this time i installed
kubuntu. dumbassed names, if you ask me, but whaddaya do? i decided to give kubuntu a shot
since it uses kde for the desktop instead of gnome.
not that i know too much about either… i just like the looks (and feel) of kde better.. so we’ll see how it goes..
while the graphical interface is pretty decent, and allows for (a somewhat) easy navigation through the system, there doesn’t seem
to be much you can do (as far as installs go) as a user. most installs need root access.
and i still have to figure out just how the hell to do that!
punched by a penguin
talon’s color for the day
which is good. he got a green yesterday, as well. until he starts getting more OOOO
than OOOO he has to spend the
OOOO days in his room. it sucks. i hate
having to “punish” him, but he does have to learn that there are consequences for
his actions..
the right side of my head, just under my eye socket has been killing me for the last week. i have had a continuously painful headache.
it is just a steady heavy pressure. there is pain when i chew anything, solid or not. i just noticed that my bite is offcenter. the left
side of my bite is hitting quite a bit before the right side is. i was putting it off and hoping to totally avoid it, but i am probably
going to make a run to the doctor’s tomorrow.
on a technical note.. i installed ubuntu on a virtual machine today, and later had decided to install
it on my laptop. the install was smooth, and required little interaction from me. i basically had to hit enter a few times to confirm
language, location, timezone.. etc.. upon reboot, it worked like a charm!! the only issue i am having is attempting to upgrade my
version of firefox. i have properly downloaded and extracted the files for install,
but when i attempt to run the executable, i get nothing. when i try to run it from command line i get:
./firefox-bin: error while loading shared libraries: libstdc++.so.5:
cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
