Check out this bit of oddness.
I had asked Kate to swing by my apartment complex and ask to see the available 3 bedroom ones available. She rang me
this morning and told me that they:
- Never showed mine.
- Said all 3 bedrooms available were new and had never been lived in.
- Showed her all available 3 bedroom apartments.
After she rang, I stopped by the apartment complex and asked how things were going. I was told they still had no
leads, but were still trying and they were trying hard since they were to get 100% commission on the leasing of
my apartment. I had asked if my apartment being a handicapped accessible apartment would affect the renting of it.
I was told no.
I decided, after talking with the office, that I would contact a lawyer on monday, since it was apparent (from Kate’s
visit) that they were not trying all that hard to rent my place out.
Not two hours later, I received a call from the rental office. I missed the call so I phoned back. I was told
someone had come in and signed a lease for my apartment.
Now, while I am glad I am no longer contractually obligated to pay over $1,100 a month for an apartment I am no
longer living in. I just find it odd how things played out today. The timing of it all is a bit suspect to me. I
am honestly not sure what to make of it all. I plan on contacting my old neighbor to see if they have seen anyone
already living in the apartment. *shrug*
weird, eh?
