TiVo is preparing to roll out version 7.2.2 of its software for all Series2 TiVo owners. The update brings a number of new features including the ability to undelete recordings, improved suggestions and support for new USB network cards.

According to TiVo, “All deleted programs go to the Recently Deleted group in the Now Playing List where they will remain until space is needed for new programs.” TiVo users can request priority access to 7.2.2, which will be delivered automatically through the set-top box’s standard update process.

I have logged in and requested mine. Go ye and ask nicely for yours.

What does Ad Muncher do?

I have been using Ad Muncher since September of 2001, long before the browsers ever had built in popup protection. Even after switching
to Firefox, I still continue to use it. Not only does it just remove ads from your viewed webpages,
it also helps to “protect” you when viewing pages that contain malicious scripts. Like I said, I have been using it for years [knock on
wood] and it has kept my computer safe from many a things floating about.

Wow, talk about taking a hit. I posted the same free software list on a technical related website I run and it was posted to digg.com.

Of course, as I was attempting to login to my server last night, I was totally unaware of the lists posting to digg. The server was ridiculously sluggish and unresponsive. When I was finally able to login to the server, I noticed ColdFusion and apache were pegged and consuming all the available memory. It took a bit of probing around, but I was finally able to figure out what was going on from the log files. I saw links leading straight to the software post with www.digg.com as the referrer.

I ended up just shutting the server down, until the interest from the article died down a bit.

I found out, when I was doing the atkins diet, that eating anything other than
a shitty diet costs a bloody fortune.

Doing the carb thing and concentrating mainly on meats, fish, and cheeses is expensive. Don’t even think about buying good meats, to even be able
to keep on the diet you have to purchase the cheap bits, unless of course you are loaded.

Now that I am juicing vegetables and fruits on a daily basis, I am finding that they are just as expensive. And if you want the more
organic versions, well they are almost double the already high price. It is ridiculous.

Now, if you want a bit of fatty, albeit, tasty food. Whether it is McDonalds, Taco Bell, Burger King, etc.. you can get a lot of food
for very little money. Hell, you can start to get your fat on by hitting up their value menus. Little $$ = Much Fat. Have you
seen Super Size Me?

Is it me, or is this ass backwards?

It is truly sad that this is an actual selling point of this software. And unfortunately, I bet this drives the
majority of their sales.

Gear Live has just posted about a new TIVO feature they will be releasing
soon.

TiVo is going to announce their new KidZone service that aims to give parents guidance and control over what their kids watch on TV. Now, this isn’t your standard, run-of-the-mill parental control feature. KidZone actually creates virtual TiVo menus and virtual channels, specifically targeted to the children. TiVo partnered with leading parenting and family groups including Common Sense Media and The Parents TV Council to select kid-friendly content for the new service.

Parents have the ability to select from an entire menu of weekly recommendations and automatically record all of those shows. When TiVo is in KidZone mode, it locks out all other programming access by children. Parents get password-protected ability to decide what’s best for their children to watch and kids get their own space on TiVo to enjoy their favorite shows. The service will be launched in June 2006.

This sounds like a cool idea. While, I do not have to worry about Talon operating the TIVO on his own,
other than changing the channels to 4-3, it will be a nice addition for the future.

It has been a long week. I will be glad when it is fully over. I think will end up sleeping all weekend.

I took these pictures this morning at Talon’s school, while we were waiting for the bell to ring. I knew I felt tired, but I honestly had no idea how tired I looked

I finally had a bit of time to get out on the kayak with Talon the other day. The weather was somewhat sunny, and the wind was
pretty calm. Talon really enjoyed himself, and has been asking to go again every day since. Hopefully, we can get out this weekend, weather permitting.

The other day I had to pick up another
camera. This thing is wild,
it has actual face tracking. Which means the damn thing follows you around as you move. Did I mention this thing is wild? Ok, how about freaky?
While the technology of it all is cool as shit, it is just a tad bit unnerving, to constantly hear the gears grinding away as it follows you around.
I turned off the auto-tracking shortly after installing it.

I still need another 4 hours of the day to finish my work. Aw hell, I would settle for 3 hours. But right now, I want to settle for some sleep.
I am tired as shit. I want to sleep.

I will write something more interesting tomorrow, I promise. Oh well, to sleep I go.
