It is true. I suck at keeping in contact with people. It’s not that I don’t want to. I’m not sure what it is.

You know the drill, you get the idea to lookup an old friend. You search the internet
for them. Bingo! You find their email address and shoot off a quick message. You wait. Wow, it’s been over 10 minutes,
doesn’t everybody spend their day in front of the computer? What is taking so long? Anyway, with email being the the
most common form of communication, years of catching up can be done in a matter of minutes. But then what?

A couple of weeks later, I will remember that I should shoot off an email to say hello or something, but I am never
in the right place for it at the time. What to do?

For me, the easiest thing is to just shoot along the address of my blog. I’m honest though, I will tell whoever that
I suck at keeping in touch, and if they want to, they can always pop open my site for a catch up. A lot of times they
do the same. I can then subscribe to their RSS feed and keep up to date with their goings on.

Ah, busy I have been. In between working on the kitchen floor, I have been able to squeeze in a bit of time to work on new cages for the
reptiles. I have two knocked out so far. I have Corona housed in the larger (4′x 2′ x 2′)
cage. I will probably put Razz (pictured below) into the top one for now. I hope to be able to knock out one
or two a week. Now that I have located the materials I have been looking for, production
of the cages is quick and cheap. Cheap, I say, very cheap. Now that I like.

Hell, if I get into a groove making them, perhaps I can sell a few? *shrug* You want one?

Is the weekend over already?

Posted by Critter under General

I definitely should have started this weekend with a list of priorities, as I was all over themap. The good news (for me at least) is that I did get quite a few things done.

I have been wanting a new setup for my snakes lately, and have been researching quite a fewdesigns. One of the materials I have been wanting to use in the cages is called shower surround or tileboard. A very unique name, right? Youwould think it would be easy to find. That is definitely not the case. It took several trips to Lowe’s to actually find what I was looking for. I don’t know how many employees I had asked, but they all kept referring me to the pre-moldedshower pieces. I finally found it when I walked the entire store, aisle by aisle. It was located overy by the pegboard, but was coveredup. Anyway, it is a cheap ($11 something a 4×8 sheet), waterproof, and light material. Perfect for reptile cages. The first cage (I’ll get pictureslater) for Corona, turned out great. The two bottom cages in the series are/will be 2 ft. high. The other two cages that will stack on top will only be 18 in.

As the kitchen floor goes, well now that is another story. Shall I? It is coming along, slowly, but it is definitely getting there. I am currently more than halfway done. The next big bit will involve removing the sink and all the cabinetsalong the wall. I would like to get that bit all tackled in one day. Then it’s on to finish the drywall. I would have been able to avoid this, but the stupid backsplash that is heavily mortored on will damage the drywall when I remove it.

I am pushing this up to the server from a test application, so I will cut the post short for now. I’ll post more in the morning…

The bird flu will kill us all

Posted by Critter under Pets

That’s right, I said it. The bird flu will be here soon and we are all going to die. So screw it, go ahead and max out your credit cards, open up
as many new ones as you can. Stop paying your bills, except of course, utilities for the time being. Live it up, though. We probably only have another year,
two at the most. Get on with it.

I should get on with it, but I’m not feeling all that motivated at the moment. I am not particularly tired, but I have no interest in staying up late. OMG,
I am getting old.

Did I mention Brandy, the troublesome goofy dane got out of her pen the other day? I am so tired of dealing with this, it is driving me crazy. And, of course,
everytime Brandy gets out, one of the neighbors phones animal control on her. Bastards! If I don’t find out who did it, I will just destroy them all.
Muwahahahahaha. So… I think Brandy jumped over the gate this time, as it looked like it was sagging just a tad. I have now secured the air space above
the gate now as well. Fingers crossed this keeps her in. Animal control left a note and threatened us with fines in excess of $400. Bastards, threaten me
will ya? We shall see *digs potatoe canon out of garage* I’m ready!

I would advise against just showing up at the house. Phone first, for your safety.

This has got to be one of the funniest spoofs I have seen!

It hurts just to…

Posted by Critter under Daily Life

Well, I was able to get all of my errands done. I lost a full day securing Brandy’s cage. I put up the electric fence on saturday. Brandy quickly tore
that down Sunday morning. She yelped as she broke through the wires, but that was all she wrote. She tore the whole thing down. I ended up going out
and picking up a bunch of hardware wire, and have basically put a wire roof on her cage along the edges. It took all of Sunday to do, but it seems
like it is doing the job. She stayed in her pen today despite two deliveries from Fed-Ex and one delivery from UPS. I’ll keep my fingers crossed.

Today was also my return appointment at the orthopedic surgeon. He decided to hold off on the cortisone shot, and instead went with novacaine
injections in my neck area. Unless I am mistaken, novacaine is supposed to numb the pain. Yeah, that didn’t happen. My neck is
absolutely killing me this evening. Immediately after my appointment I started my physical therapy. I have to do that two times a week for a bit,
then have another recheck. I just want my neck to stop aching. I hope this shit works.

Today has been a friggin whirlwind, non-stop from day start til now. I’m crashing. You will have to miss me until tomorrow.

Organization will set me free

Do you make lists?

Friday already, can you believe it? Hell no, it has taken forever to get here. It has been a pretty busy week and the weekend
shows no signs of letting up.

I still have a ton of work to do in the kitchen. I still have half the tile and subflooring to replace. I am pretty sure as that all
comes up, I will run into a bit of dry-walling that needs repairing here and there. I picked up the range, dishwasher, and
OTC microwave yesterday from the Best Buy
in Garner. They took forever getting the items pulled for me, but luckily I was able to get home before it started to rain. Getting them
out of the truck was an interesting situation. The microwave and dishwasher were easy enough to get out, but I swear the range
weighed a small ton. It took a bit of doing but I was finally able to get it out of the truck with the use of my trusty handtruck. No
home should be without one, seriously.

I was finally able to find the stuff I need to put an electric border up on Brandy’s fence. She jumped out again the other day, and
apparently one of our lovely neighbors phoned animal control. I came home to a huge, bright red door hanger, informing me that
animal control had been there. The notice only stated that our dog “was at large”, which basically means they couldn’t catch her. Ha!
So fortifying Brandy’s “fort” has been added to my list of things to do.

I have a few snake cages I need to built. Any volunteers?

Oh, and how’s this for a domain name: http://pleasestopwiththeshittossingitsgettingold.com?
It’s for/from the movie Benchwarmers.

I actually feel like I have a million things to do. As I sit here and type, I feel as though I have the motivation equal to the speed of
a snail. meh.

I did finally pick up a switch for my network here, so rather than have two disjointed routers with two different gateways, I have one router
linked up to the switch leaving me with a plethora of ports. uh yay!

And of course I never got around to tackling Brandy’s fence yet. Time has been my enemy! I will bet getting it sorted tomorrow after
TaeKwonDo, I promise me.

And since I am rambling on, I might as well introduce you to our next potential breeder. She is a Pastel Hypo and
was born on May 11th, 2006. She probably won’t arrive for a few more weeks. She’s a beaut, isn’t she? The first picture
was taken just after birth.

Breeder has decided to keep her due to a possible strain of albinism he wants to encourage. *sigh* Oh well, perhaps the next litter.

Razz has arrived!

Posted by Critter under Pets

My apologies for the double notification that went
out. My automated script shagged the first remote post. My bad.

Look who arrived today! She is an absolute beauty. I have decided to name her Razz. These
aren’t the greatest pictures, but they will do for now.
I will get more of her once she settles in a bit.
