My journey towards a more organized me.

One of my goals is to become more organized. I am hoping that a more organized me will make my life a bit easier. I went to Office Max last night and picked up a few things. Whatever it takes right? I think I can. I think I can!

Things that need to get done:

  • Cut up fallen, lightening struck trees in yard (this could take all weekend)
  • Finish pantry cabinet.
  • Start trim work in kitchen.
  • Finish moving office downstairs
  • Build two more reptile cages
  • Install cabinets in garage
  • Clean out garage
  • Pressure wash deck
  • Build Jill a new cage (iguana)

I highly recommend http://franklincovey.com/ The Franklin Planner system. I use the classic size. Get the tapes and listen to Stephen R Covey’s First Things First and if you are a reader check out the book. First Things First is the 3rd habit from Seven Habits of Highly Effective People.

Getting Things Done by David Allen is getting a lot of press. There is even a firefox extension that integrates with gmail. You’ll see GTD all over the place (literally search ‘GTD’). I haven’t read it and am hesitant to go to it because GTD is list based where First Things First is values based. Maybe an integration of the two?
