A 28-year-old single mother of three young children was walking on the sidewalk last Tuesday evening when a vehicle drove by and the people inside shot at her with a paintball gun, police said. She was hit in the right eye and, as a result, will be blinded in that eye for the rest of her life.
KC’s Secret Santa revealed.
Kansas City Star | 11/16/2006 | KC’s Secret Santa revealed
For 26 years, the man Kansas City knows as Secret Santa has freely given away money - $100 bills by the handful - to hundreds of down-on-their-luck folks.
He never has told them who he is. Instead, he has remained anonymous, an unnamed Jackson County businessman thrilled to share the joy of a little extra cash at the holidays.
But things have changed.
He has cancer, and this year is probably the last for a “sleigh ride.”?

World Cup final ball sells for 2.4 million dollars - Yahoo! News
DOHA (AFP) - The ball used in this year’s World Cup final between Italy and France has sold at auction for a staggering 2.4 million dollars. Signed by the Italian team which beat France on penalties, it was snapped up by Qatar’s emir-in-waiting Sheikh Mohamed bin Hamad al-Thani, who will display it at the ASPIRE Academy here during the Asian Games next month, the Asiad website said. “I was at the World Cup final myself so it has sentimental value for me. I have supported Italy since I was young,” he was quoted as saying by local media.
Nice. Although, I can think of many other things to spend 2.4 meeeelion dollars on
