Talon has been struggling with his ability to keep his mouth shut at school lately. Just about every other day he is pulling a yellow card or worse. He just likes to talk. I can’t blame him too much because I am the same way; the exact same way. Center of attention, yeah that’s me. I mean that’s him.. yeah, that’s us.
I’ve been on him to tighten it down at school lately. You know, talk when you are called on. Quit chatting with your mates all day, etc.. I want to think he is trying to do a better job, but the non-green colored days are telling me something else.
Yesterday, just before noon, I received a call from Talon’s school. I was informed he had been suspended for the remainder of the day. Apparently a boy from his class had pushed him a couple times and Talon decided to retaliate by biting him. Not his best moment, by far. He is definitely having a rough one.
Six years old, in first grade and he’s already been suspended. I didn’t get my first suspension until around grade seven. I am not sure what that says, but instead of saving up for college, I am just going to set the money aside for bail. (just kidding, mom, relax!)
Update: Apparently my memory is fading

Your memory is failing you, old man. Your first suspension came in second grade, except there it was called internal suspension. I came to school. (You had decided to take some of our records to school and just get up during class and listen to them on an old record player in the back of the classroom.
Talon is just an early starter. Hope you explain to him what to do when something like this happens again.
