I don’t wanna be fat no more

Weight loss through humiliation, that’s what I say!

I have been setup for working out at the house for quite a while. I have a bench, squat rack, a few other odds and ends and a set of Bowflex SelectTech Dumbbells. My biggest problem is motivation. I have no problem starting a workout, but I just get distracted from them too easily.

One morning, while watching the nothingness that is informercials, I saw the one for P90X, a workout routine / diet / etc etc.. I decided to give it a shot. What could it hurt right?

I took all my measurements at Day 1, marked them down in my little journal, and off I went! I have had a few problems with scheduling my workouts, but I do squeeze them in when I can. The workouts are pretty intense, yet quite simple. I use my dumbbells and a set of bands, and that is more than enough to kick my butt.

Anyway, I’ve just passed Day 30. I’ve taken all my updated measurements and my photos. I thought I would show a comparison here.

I believe I could have probably pushed myself a bit more on a couple occasions, and my diet isn’t iron clad, but I have done my best to stick with it. I am pleased with the results in 30 days so far. Stay tuned…

Imus isn’t the real bad guy

Definitely worth a read…

www.kansascity.com | 04/11/2007 | Imus isn’t the real bad guy

Thank you, Don Imus. You’ve given us (black people) an excuse to avoid our real problem.

You’ve given Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson another opportunity to pretend that the old fight, which is now the safe and lucrative fight, is still the most important fight in our push for true economic and social equality.

You’ve given Vivian Stringer and Rutgers the chance to hold a nationally televised recruiting celebration expertly disguised as a news conference to respond to your poor attempt at humor.

Thank you, Don Imus. You extended Black History Month to April, and we can once again wallow in victimhood, protest like it’s 1965 and delude ourselves into believing that fixing your hatred is more necessary than eradicating our self-hatred.

The bigots win again.

While we’re fixated on a bad joke cracked by an irrelevant, bad shock jock, I’m sure at least one of the marvelous young women on the Rutgers basketball team is somewhere snapping her fingers to the beat of 50 Cent’s or Snoop Dogg’s or Young Jeezy’s latest ode glorifying nappy-headed pimps and ho’s.

It hurts when you leave me

I walked, slowly, into the room, as I had done many times before. The lights were on, but two of the bulbs had previously expired, leaving the room in partial darkness.

As I stepped through the door, I left my pinky toe behind. For some reason he (it) wanted to remain on the outside of the door frame. I am not sure why that decision was made.

He (it) looks different now. Older? More mature? I am not sure about that, but he’s definitely a different shade of me. Darker, more sinister.

Oh and a tad swollen

Backers of Apology for Slavery Urge Change, Too :: WRAL.com

“I think it’s a good thing they’re recognizing slavery was morally wrong in this country, but I also think it won’t effect a lot of change,”? said Bryan Booker, an assistant professor of history at St. Augustine’s College.

Hey, I think that’s a great thing too, but FFS, don’t we have more important issues to deal with. Why are we constantly living in the past or trying to link ourselves with it. The past is exactly that, THE PAST!

At the end of 2005 there were an estimated 24.5 million people living with HIV in Africa. More than 12 million children have been orphaned by AIDS.

Shouldn’t we be more worried about issues such as that, than who owned who?

Do people still own slaves? Probably, somewhere in this country.

Is it right? No, it is morally wrong to /own/ a person IMO.

Is it a problem in this country? If it is, it is not to a noticeable point. It is not killing our soldiers overseas. It is not leaving children and families to defend themselves on the streets. It is not the millions of children affected by AIDS and HIV in Africa.

I loathe the fact that these people attempt to speak for me. Please, please do not apologize for me.

This is not front page news

Not belittling any race or group of people, but I have a serious problem with the front page feature story on CNN. He made a derogatory comment about some chicks. He’ll say he’s sorry, he might even go out of his way to do something to support them, and then we will all go on about our business.

No offense, but who gives a shit?

There are people dying left and right in this world for one reason or another and they feature a story about hurt feelings. Give me a break.

Buy my vote!

Posted by Critter under News Items

Wow, $25 million,  that’s a lot of money.  Obama has raised $25 million, Hilary Clinton has raised $26 million, and all this just from January of this year. All that money to fund their campaigns. What a shame they do not put it to better use. I would seriously be more apt to vote for someone that applied the money they had raised for the good of people in our country. Feed the homeless, build a shelter, just do something besides throw it away.

And then there was silence.

So, I am on this conference call this afternoon. I was driving Talon to a birthday party at the same time. I heard one of the clients ask a question. There was a bit of silence, then she said “Cricket?”.

I heard brakes squeal to a stop in my head.

As soon as the call was over, I called one of the other people on the call, and asked,

“Did she just call me Cricket?”

Laughter erupted from the phone, “No, but we will definitely be calling you that from now on.”

“wtf?”, I thought to myself.

They further explained, “The client asked a question, and when there was nothing but silence as an answer, she said ‘crickets’”.

Ha! well now, didn’t I feel like an idiot. Yeap.
