BBC NEWS | UK | England | Merseyside | Woman jailed for testicle attack

Woman jailed for testicle attack A woman who ripped off her ex-boyfriend’s testicle with her bare hands has been sent to prison.

Amanda Monti, 24, flew into a rage when Geoffrey Jones, 37, rejected her advances at the end of a house party, Liverpool Crown Court heard.

She pulled off his left testicle and tried to swallow it, before spitting it out. A friend handed it back to Mr Jones saying: “That’s yours.”

Monti admitted wounding and was jailed for two-and-a-half years.

Two and a half years? That should be life!

RIP, Mr. Wizard

Television’s ‘Mr. Wizard’ dies at 89 - CNN.com

LOS ANGELES, California (AP) — Don Herbert, who as television’s “Mr. Wizard” introduced generations of young viewers to the joys of science, died Tuesday. He was 89.

Herbert, who had bone cancer, died at his suburban Bell Canyon home, said his son-in-law, Tom Nikosey.

“He really taught kids how to use the thinking skills of a scientist,” said former colleague Steve Jacobs. He worked with Herbert on a 1980s show that echoed the original 1950s “Watch Mr. Wizard” series, which became a fond baby boomer memory.

In “Watch Mr. Wizard,” which was produced from 1951 to 1964 and received a Peabody Award in 1954, Herbert turned TV into an entertaining classroom. On a simple, workshop-like set, he demonstrated experiments using household items.

Herbert encouraged children to duplicate experiments at home, said Jacobs, who recounted serving as a behind-the-scenes “science sidekick” to Herbert on the ’80s “Mr. Wizard’s World,” which aired on the Nickelodeon channel.

Born in Waconia, Minnesota, Herbert was a 1940 graduate of LaCrosse State Teachers College and was an Army Air Corps pilot during World War II. He worked as an actor, model and radio writer before starting “Watch Mr. Wizard” in Chicago on NBC.

I used to /love/ that show. I remember being jealous of the kids that were on it.

But this combo is nice.

Changing the front brakes on a vehicle is a fairly simple task. A lot of people take their cars to shops mainly because they are either unaware how easy it is or they are afraid worried they may damage something or not be able to do it properly.

eHow.com has an article explaining how to change the front brakes on your vehicle. They also have quite a few other DIY articles as well. Go check it out!

While real life is on hold.

I was up early, as usual, this morning, and thought I would check on today’s weather. When I opened up weather watcher, I noticed that today’s sunrise would occur at 6:16am. It was only 5:30, so I figured I could make a quick run to the beach to grab a couple of shots.

The sky was not overly impressive, a few bits of reddish-orange streaked here and there. I check my phone and the time said 6:16am. I kid you not, I looked up and saw just the tip of something across the horizon. It was wild. At first I was unsure if it was the sun or not, just because of the way it looked. It actually looked like an explosion with a bit of a mushroom cloud in the distance.

I could seriously get used to waking up to a sight like that every morning.

Oh yeah, I also noticed people on the beach that walk in the morning own /two/ dogs. Not one, but two. Good to know if you ever want to move here and start walking the beach in the early morning hours.
