funny pictures

some of the pictures at http://icanhascheezburger.com/ are absolutely hysterical. Definitely worth a read each morning.

I started putting up the tree yesterday. I felt nothing. No excitement, no joy, not a thing. I’ve never been a big fan of any of the holidays. It’s all too much buildup for just one day, if you ask me. Most of the holidays have lost their meaning anyway. They have all gone commercial.

I do try to put it on for the kids, though. I’m not a total scrooge, at least not around the kids. :)

meh.

As you can see by the previous blog entry, we lengthened the split in my tongue last week. When we made the initial cuts we only went as far as the healed pocked from my tongue ring. This meant that I had no cut tissue resting on itself, since the back of the cut was already healed.

Since we added to the cut, I now have open tissue at the back of the cut that wants to close up and heal. This is not what I want, though. The tongue heals very quickly, and the newly separated pieces will try their best to reunite. Re-growth is inevitable.

I have been taking tissue paper and grabbing both halves of my tongue and pulling them apart. This keeps ripping the re-growth so that I can keep as much of the split as possible.

I was sitting there yesterday, staring blindly at my bathroom countertop, when I had a revelation. *bright idea* I can use dental floss to help separate the tissue! I took out a strand of floss and “flossed” the split, pushing my tongue out as far as I could, against the floss. It made quick work of the tissue that had regrown with much less pain than just pulling the tips apart.

So there you go! If you ever need to separate tissue (I guess it would actually be muscle since it’s the tongue.. oh well), unwaxed dental floss is what you need.

I am glad I could share that with you. My day is complete. Gnite.

I am living life on the edge

silverware And just to prove it, let me show you a picture of the new silverware I purchased this weekend. Yes, that is correct folks, purchasing silverware was a highlight of my weekend.

You may clicken on the image to purchase your own set and bring happiness and patheticness to your day as I have done mine.

Go me!

Actually, I was quite excited to pack up the old silverware we were using. It was thin and easily bent. I know… still sad *shrug*

Talon did get the chance to have his first go at a rock climbing wall this weekend. He seemed pretty nervous at first, but once he got started, I think he liked it. He probably would have enjoyed it more, except that he was eager to go swimming.

Oh and this one’s for free. Here’s a nice little tip for your pancakes.

Add Oatmeal, chocolate syrup, and a few chocolate chips to your pancake batter to flavor them and give them a little extra boost!

They taste soooo good!

More tongue splittage

Posted by Critter under Body Modification

We lengthened the split in my tongue just a hair or two. It was mainly to cut through scar tissue I had built up over the years from my oversized tongue ring.

The video isn’t really gory, the only blood is towards the end when I spit.

( popcorn seeds can really be a pain, JSYK )

I dreamt of death

Posted by Critter under Critter

But it wasn’t mine. Last night was probably one of the very few dreams I have remembered in a long time, but that is probably due to the fact that it was so disturbing.

I do not remember all of the details of it, but it involved me ending the lives of several individuals. The careful cleanup of any evidence. I remember thinking in my dream that “CSI will look for this…” etc.. We relieved a gentleman of his sailboat towards at the end. That’s pretty much where I woke up.

I swear I woke up several times during the dream and looked at the clock, and then it continued again after I fell back asleep. Weird.
