Hernia surgery has been scheduled
I am set to have surgery for my lingual hernia on Wednesday, December 3rd. They are planning on doing a laparoscopic procedure. Dr. Bruce will screw a mesh over the opening, rather than attempting to close the opening. Apparently closing of the defect will just lead to the possibility of another hernia, so mesh it is! I am glad to hear they are not ‘cutting’ me open… I know chicks dig scars, but I already have enough of them.
I was going to ask them if they would take pictures during the procedure. Maybe they can still do something with the scope. *shrug*
I'll be thinking of you tomorrow, buddy. I had two hernias repaired in October '07 – ventral and umbilical. They were open surgery with the mesh. Fun stuff, yo. I know yours will go a lot easier being laparascopic. Just make sure you FOLLOW DIRECTIONS and don't exercise until they tell you that you can. If you push it, then you're going to end up right back where you started.
