I had two hernias repaired in October '07 - ventral and umbilical. They were open surgery with the mesh. Fun stuff, yo. I know yours will go a lot easier being laparascopic. Just make sure you FOLLOW DIRECTIONS and don't exercise until they tell you that you can. If you push it, then you're going to end up right back where you started.
