There are two things in my life.
ByAside from my kids, there are two things in my life that can act as a little bit of an eraser for stress.
The first is skydiving. Nothing erases the tensions of a week like jumping out of a plane on the weekend. I am only a few jumps away from my certification, but until then jumping is still quite expensive.
The second is suspending. Funny that both involve my feet being off of the ground. A lot of people have asked me what the purpose of suspending is, and to be quite honest.. it’s rather hard to put into words. A lot of people that do suspensions classify it as ’spiritual’, but I hate to apply that label to it. I’m sure it means different things to different people, but for me.. it is one thing I can control in my chaotic life. Even that… I know.. doesn’t make sense, but it does to me. It is perfectly clear. You have to be of the right frame of mind at the time of a suspension. If something is off, the pain can be unbearable. It’s more than just mind over matter. It’s about being in the right place… mentally. I had three things on my mind when I suspended this time. Three things that I concentrated on to help me get past the hooks in my back… three things to help me get past the pain… three things that make me…. well.. me. My suspension is a very private and personal thing.. and while I did it in the presence of many people… it was just those three things and myself hanging around…
Mom, you will want to stop reading here. The link below leads to my Flickr account and the youtube videos of the event.
I should also add… a huge thanks to Jason and Cere for everything.
