Insanity – Day 1 – Fit Test

Embedded below is a spreadsheet I will be using to keep track as I go through my fit test every two weeks.

Below is the information I used to determine the amount of calories I need to take in daily as I get my ass kicked by Insanity. Hopefully this amount of calories will keep me from totally smearing my body on the ground at the end of each workout.

Step I
Harris Benedict Equation to calculate caloric needs for men (there is a slightly different one for women — 655 + (4.35 * weight in lbs) + (4.7 * height in inches) – (4.7 * age in years)).
66 + (6.23 * weight in lbs) + (12.7 * height in inches) – (6.8 * age in years)
66 + (6.23 * 160) + (12.7 * 69) – (6.8 * 37)
66 + (996.8) + (876.3) – (251.6)
Basic daily requirement to maintain weight with no exercise: 1687.5

Step II
1687.5 * 1.7 (taken from a chart in the insanity book)
Caloric intake based on ‘very active’ lifestyle: 2868.75

Step III
For weight loss subtract 500 from the number in Step II.
For weight maintenance do nothing.
For weight gain add 250 to 300 calories to the number in Step II.

I want shredded. So I will subtract 500 from 2868.75 which leaves me with 2368.75 calories to take in daily.
