That can’t be right, can it? More often than not, I stare at the screen. There are a ton of things I would like to tell you. Maybe just to get it off my chest, but I never do. I stare at the screen for a few minutes, and then I just shut down the program.
Have I ever told you how much I hate the mornings? That’s not to say I am not a morning person. When I wake up, I am up. I enjoy my coffee, but it’s not always needed to get me going.
There is that one brief, moment, even before I open my eyes, where everything is peaceful and content. In a flash, though, the peace is gone and the reality of life slams into play.
and with that… I really can’t squeeze out anything else this morning.. I’ll leave you with a pictures of Talon and Phoenix… those always make me smile.

Well, it wasn’t really a mountain, but I still got beat.
Today, George, Bovis, Mike, and myself awoke early (somewhat) and headed down to White’s on George Street for a lovely breakfast.

After that we headed to BedgeBury for some mountain biking. I used a rental bike, which pretty much turned out to be a piece of crap. I basically had to do the trails in one gear. It was rough. The bike was such a piece of shit, I ended up dropping out close to the end and taking a different path back to the lake. I crashed out for a bit by the lake while waiting for them to arrive. When they got back we all had lunch by the lake. It was nice. Between the crap bike and us being out late the night before… it was a rough day… but it was still fun.

… more later..
I am still slightly exhausted, but getting closer and closer to full functionality. The trip over was pretty painless, as the plane was pretty empty. I was able to stretch out across the entire row. Sadly the plane’s entertainment system was broken, which made the flight seem annoyingly long. They did, however, replace the movie with free alcohol, so it was a bit more bearable. One thing that did suck was the lack of power ports on the plane. Seriously?? It is 2008 you know?! I could have at least watched a couple of the movies I had on my laptop. Oh well.
The plane landed at Gatwick around 6am. Customs gave me the 3rd degree about my travels. Totally my fault though. When I was initially asked what I was in the UK for, I responded “sin and debauchery”. They apparently didn’t appreciate my humor. heheh. From there, it kind of went downhill. I picked up my luggage and phoned George. He said he would be there in about 1.5 hours. No biggie.. I’ll just have a bit of brekky and relax for a bit.
My phone isn’t working over here. So George had no way of contacting me, but after about 2 hours, I phoned him back. It went straight to voicemail, but I left a message that I would be at the Starbucks, etc..
Long story short… after playing phone tag for a bit, George rang back and caught me on the payphone. That’s when we figured out he was at Heathrow. Doh!!
I ended up taking a train down to Hastings and arrived just before George did.
more later… I’m off into town for a bit.

It is quite possible I have what Phoenix had, although I haven’t broken down and cried. If this is what my little guy had *whew*… he handled it pretty well.. because it’s kicking my ass.
This morning as I was reading tweets that came in overnight on my phone, I came across this one from @abbyladybug.
When I first opened up the article, I have to tell you, my heart skipped a little beat! The image that popped up was awesome, and I thought there was a new product available.

I thought Vibram had come out with a dress shoe for the Five Fingers line. I was wrong, but it’s still a good article. Vibram does, however, have a new version out. They are geared toward keeping your five toes a tad warmer. I might have to pick these up for next winter.

In case you didn’t know, I have a pair of the ‘Sprints’ and I absolutely love them. They are the most comfortable shoes I have ever worn. I don’t think I can go anywhere without somebody stopping me and asking me about them.
I think the most asked question is “Isn’t it uncomfortable to have something between your toes?” You would think it is, but it’s really not. They are the next best thing to being barefoot.
