Anniversaries

Today is the 1 year anniversary of something that no longer exists.

It sucks.

Not feeling it.

Posted by: Critter | Comments Comments

Yes, I know.. it’s a new year.. I haven’t updated this in quite a while, and I cannot promise anything new, anytime soon. You may catch the occasional picture or something, but I am just not feeling the whole spilling out online thing. Maybe that will be my new year’s resolution?

Anyway.. grab the RSS feed… If you see an update… well.. there you go.

Yesterday I had another bit of skin cancer removed. This one was just a BCC (Basil Celled Carcinoma), which is the least dangerous, but most common. However, if it is left untreated, it can progress and become more dangerous.

I was able to snap some great pictures during the procedure (Dr. Ketcham rules!). I have to wait 3 weeks for the results, but odds are good that he was able to remove it all.

I will have to get some updated pictures of my nose. It has healed up quite nicely. I am actually surprised at how well it has healed…

I have my next full body checkup in January. I’m clean until then, I guess.

Picture and link after the jump.

Piss off

Posted by: Critter | Comments Comments

It’s been a rough year. Laid off twice, hernia, courts, and tons of other shit. Hopefully 2009 will have a few semblances of brightness to it, because this past year, sucked ass.

Dear 2008. Fuck you. Sincerely, Me and the boys!

so… they’ve increased what we will pay, but refuse to pay more themselves. It’s all about greed now-a-days

I would /so/ get dish, but my apartment is at the bottom back.. no way I can get the dish pointed in the right direction :(

I’ve had over 3 weeks of recovery from my hernia operation. I think that is quite good enough. I’ve actually done much better than I thought I would. While it was refreshing to /not/ workout in the beginning. It’s really starting to get to me. My weight has remained constant for the most part, but I just don’t feel like I did. And I want that back. grrrrr!

I am pretty sure that the first few workouts will totally kick my ass, and I do plan on taking it easy with and around my abs. The hernia repair feels tight from time to time. *shrug* I might still wear my hernia belt in the beginning just to be safe… we’ll see, I guess.

I’ll be redoing my pictures again, since for the most part we are starting over.

oh and btw… Merry Christmas

I’m not even sure why that is anymore. The commercialism of it all thoroughly annoys me. It just doesn’t feel all holiday-ish.. ya know? *shrug*

So what’s up?

My lack of writing, that’s for sure. I have felt little to no inspiration or motivation to write anything lately. Hell, it’s even been ages since I’ve updated or posted to my Twitter account. Getting let go from Seesmic, just kinda sucked the social media life out of me *shrug* oh well…

I am healing up decently after both procedures last week. I might have mentioned it before (can’t be bothered to look at the moment), but each procedure in itself isn’t/wasn’t too bad, but both of them together … eh… My boys (and by boys, I mean balls) were already sore from the hernia operation. Not sure why.. they just were. Then to have Dr. V attack my balls and cut off their life force two days later… yeah well. I’ve never claimed to be all that bright.

Oh, and apparently posting pictures of your vasectomy and your balls on Facebook is not kosher. Hahaha! You know me… I just wanted to share. At least the doctor was cool about it. He let me snap away while he was doing the procedure.

So what else? The contract gig I had isn’t really panning out as I would have liked. Target here I come, right? I would totally get back to waiting tables if I have to, it’s just hard to juggle the schedule with the boys. Oh well, I’ll figure something out.

I was growing my hair out again, for a mohawk. I mainly started because I was being lazy and didn’t want to shave. Then having hair became more annoying than the thought of having to shave it. Back to bald. Sorry Nana.

I totally feel like a fatass. Now, I know that’s not /really/ the case, as my weight has actually dropped a bit. But it’s not the kind of weight I want to drop. I have been following the doctor’s orders and not working out. And to be honest, it’s effing killing me. Meghann and I plan on starting back up in a couple weeks. I might try to squeeze in a few light bits of cardio in the meantime. It’s sad how fast the body falls out of it.

What else? hmmm

Oh yeah.. Phoenix just turned 2. Friggin 2 years! Can you believe it?

Here’s the boys and I some day last week.

I am set to have surgery for my lingual hernia on Wednesday, December 3rd. They are planning on doing a laparoscopic procedure. Dr. Bruce will screw a mesh over the opening, rather than attempting to close the opening. Apparently closing of the defect will just lead to the possibility of another hernia, so mesh it is! I am glad to hear they are not ‘cutting’ me open… I know chicks dig scars, but I already have enough of them.

I was going to ask them if they would take pictures during the procedure. Maybe they can still do something with the scope. *shrug*

Of course, doesn’t he always? Weird Al rocks.

I’ve lost a bit of weight and a lot of my jeans just hang. It’s annoying, yes, but I just can’t be bothered to buy new jeans. Anyway… I happened to glance down the other day and noticed that the left side of my stomach was bulging out in an odd way. I pushed on it with my hand and watched it disappear. I then tensed up my stomach and *pop* it came back out.

This can’t be good.

A quick self-diagnosis aided by the internet, Kelli’s mom, a few twitter friends, and I had come to the conclusion that it was a hernia.

It was a Friday afternoon and the medical supply store was closed until Monday, and none of the local pharmacies carried hernia belts. I ended up purchasing an ACE bandage and strapped things together with that and a small bit of duct tape. That was sufficient until Monday arrived.hernia_belt.jpg

We postponed our Monday workout until the evening so that I could acquire the belt first. I drove, first thing, to the local medical supply store and bought my hideous belt. Although, horrible as it may look, it definitely does the trick.

My close friends have been instructed, should I require transportation to a hospital or anything of that nature, to remove the belt and save me from a lifetime of embarrassment.

Long story short… It has been confirmed by my doctor that it is a Lingual Hernia and the only way to fix it is surgery. I have a surgical consult setup for this upcoming Tuesday.

I am looking forward to getting it fixed. My doctor said that as long as it can be pushed back in, it should be fine. But it has had it’s moments of uncomfortableness. I have to literally push it in and hold it in place to blow my nose or cough (and shit too… I know.. right?)

… and I shall leave you with this: (it can’t be embedded, you’ll have to click the link)
